Audiology and Hearing Centers
The Hearing Centers of Columbia Park Medical Group are full-service hearing aid dispensaries specializing in a variety of brands of the latest state-of-the-art digital hearing aids and assistive listening devices at very competitive prices. In addition to sales of the most advanced new hearing aids, comprehensive repair services are offered for all makes and models. We offer three convenient locations staffed with Audiologists who each have over 20 years experience in hearing health care. Fridley has Iris Johnson, M.A., with Laurie Prettner, M.S. serving the Andover and Brooklyn Park Clinics.
To obtain new hearing aid(s), schedule a one hour hearing aid evaluation appointment, once you have had a diagnostic audiological evaluation (valid for 6 months) and medical clearance for hearing aid usage. There is a one-time $78.00 fee for the hearing aid evaluation, fitting and follow-up services. The advantages and disadvantages of various styles of hearing aids and levels of technology will be discussed in detail. From this, in combination with a detailed needs assessment, a hearing aid(s) will be chosen for you. An ear impression will be made and your hearing aid(s) will be ordered. Once we receive your hearing aid(s), you will return approximately three weeks after the fitting for minor adjustments, to review function, answer questions, and to address any problems that you may have.
The date of the hearing aid fitting will begin a forty-five day trial period. You are ecnouraged to wear your hearing aids in many enviornments for 6 weeks before making a decision on the purchase. The majority of the cost of the hearing aid would be refundable to you; however, a $75.00 restocking fee per ear would be retained if you decide to return the hearing aid(s).
Prices are based on the level of technology selected, the quality of hearing aid performance, available features, and style selected. Advanced digital devices start at $2600 each, high performance at $2200 each, with several levels of economical technology $1200 to $1800 each. You will be required to pay one-half of the cost of the hearing aid(s) at your fitting appointment and the balance at the three week re-check appointment.
Unfortunately, Medicare and some insurance companies do not pay for either the $78.00 hearing aid evaluation fee or the hearing aid costs. However, all potential users are encouraged to check their own policies as some insurance companies do offer a partial to full hearing aid benefits.
